Global Shapers Lagos Hub to Convene All 17 Nigerian Hubs at Nigeria Regional Retreat 2026
The Global Shapers Lagos Hub has announced the Nigeria Regional Retreat 2026, a national convening that will bring together all 200 young leaders from 17 states across Nigeria. The three-day event is scheduled for November 2026, with up to 200 young leaders expected from every part of the country.
The retreat will convene young leaders from hub cities spanning Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, from Jalingo to Yola, Kano to Kaduna, Abuja to Jos, Ilorin to Enugu, Owerri to Port Harcourt, Calabar to Benin, Uyo to Warri, Ota, Ogun and Ibadan, bringing different experiences, perspectives and communities into one shared space representing a truly national gathering of the Global Shapers Community’s Nigerian network.
“Young people are not spectators in Nigeria’s development story; they are architects of it. This retreat is about bringing that reality into one room. When 200 young leaders from 17 cities sit together, share what they are building, and commit to what they will do next, that is meaningful youth engagement in its truest form. We are not gathering to talk about the future. We are gathering to shape it.”
- Titlayo Abaniwonda, Curator, Global Shapers Lagos Hub
The retreat is structured around practical sessions designed and intergenerational conversations with varying African leaders to strengthen how hubs across Nigeria plan, deliver, and collaborate on community projects. Beyond the sessions, the retreat aims to produce something more enduring: cross-hub commitments, shared tools, and active collaborations that continue well after Lagos.
The strategic intent is clear: every hub leaves with concrete 90-day actions, defined partnerships, and a stronger connection to the national network.
The retreat is hosted by the Global Shapers Lagos Hub and is open to active Shapers across all 17 Nigerian hubs. The Global Shapers Community is a network of young people who are driving change in their local communities as part of the World Economic Forum.
